For High-Performing Professionals in Northern Virginia
Kate Clark Therapy
You’re thoughtful, capable, and self-aware—but something still isn’t right.
If you keep finding yourself in the same relationship patterns, overthinking decisions, or feeling more stuck and overwhelmed than you should, insight isn’t the problem. Something deeper is driving the pattern.
I offer trauma-informed, psychodynamic therapy and extended intensives designed to help you create meaningful, lasting change.
Therapy Intensives for Deep, Focused Work
3-hour therapy intensives are designed for people who want to go deeper—faster.
Many of my clients are high-performing professionals who:
-
Don’t feel satisfied with weekly therapy alone
-
Want focused time to explore relationship patterns
-
Are ready to make decisive change
This format often leads to faster, more meaningful breakthroughs than traditional weekly sessions.
About
I’m Kate Clark, MA, LCSW, a psychotherapist in Northern Virginia working with high-functioning professionals.
I work with thoughtful, self-aware adults who still find themselves repeating the same patterns in relationships, emotions, or decision-making. Together, we look beneath the surface to understand what’s driving those patterns and how they can begin to shift.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed therapy. I strive to create a space that feels warm, collaborative, and genuinely engaged—where you don’t have to perform, and where we can make sense of things at a deeper level.
Approach
You’re thoughtful, self-aware, and likely the person others rely on—but something still doesn't feel right.
You may be someone who:
-
Has done therapy before, but still feels stuck
-
Is highly self-aware, yet repeats the same relationship dynamics
-
Feels internal pressure to perform, succeed, or hold it all together
-
Overthinks decisions, conversations, or emotional experiences
-
Appears successful on the outside, but feels unsettled underneath
You don’t need more coping strategies. You need a deeper understanding of what’s driving these patterns—and ways to shift them.
Relationships
Navigating the nuances of connection, communication, and intimacy to change patterns and attachments
Anxiety & Depression
Developing practical strategies to examine our thoughts and feelings and address internal pressure
Trauma
Processing trauma and early relational experiences in a skilled, safe environment to move beyond survival toward authentic healing
Sexuality
Exploring desire, identity, and self-expression that validates your lived experience. LGBTQ, poly, and kink-affirming
Culture
Addressing the specific psychological impact of systemic stressors such as race, religion, and gender through a validating socio-cultural lens
Work & Purpose
Expert navigation through professional pressures, work-related identity, burnout, and the pursuit of a sustainable career-life balance
Investment
The kind of therapy you’re looking for—thoughtful, in-depth, and focused on lasting change—requires both time and intention.
For many of the clients I work with, the question isn’t just “What does this cost?” It’s “What will actually help me move forward?”
I offer several formats depending on the depth and pace you’re looking for.
Most clients begin with a 90-minute consultation.
